This role focuses on protecting the Credit Union's assets in bankruptcies, garnishments, litigation, and other legal proceedings. Key responsibilities include:
Responding to legal notifications, such as garnishments and bankruptcy filings.
Managing vendor relationships, attorney costs, and invoices.
Preparing and filing legal documents like proofs of claims and reaffirmation agreements.
Monitoring and documenting bankruptcy and litigation activities.
Assisting with collection legal recommendations and coordinating with outside counsel.
Reviewing and responding to subpoenas, garnishments, and Power of Attorney requests.
Managing foreclosures, past-due payments, and sheriff sales.
Providing backup support for repossession-related and general collection tasks.
Maintaining a positive atmosphere and staying proficient in relevant software tools.
The starting salary for this positon is $61,000 to $76,000 annually, and is based on relevant experience.
Paralegal certification, preferably from an ABA-approved paralegal education program; or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understands and has a working knowledge of the following:
